Website information
Privacy & cookies
This page explains how Homopolitan uses browser storage and external services. For privacy questions or requests about your personal data, contact contact@homopolitan.com.
Your choices
Optional services are disabled until you allow them. You can accept all, reject optional services, or choose Google Analytics, YouTube, Vimeo, Spotify and X separately. You can change or withdraw permission using Privacy settings in the footer. Withdrawing permission reloads the page to stop services that were already loaded. This does not undo information already sent to a provider.
Our own videos, covers, galleries and ordinary navigation work without optional consent. External players require permission for their provider. Following an external link takes you to that service, where its own privacy choices apply.
Essential storage
We store your choices in this browser using local storage under homopolitan_privacy_v1. This record contains the selected services, choice date, expiry and policy version. It lasts 180 days unless you change it or clear your browser storage. It is not an advertising identifier and we do not send this preference record to a separate consent service. If local storage is unavailable, we try an essential session cookie, homopolitan_privacy_session, to remember the same choices for the browser session. If both are blocked, choices apply only to the current page.
Optional analytics
If you allow Google Analytics, we load Google's tag to measure visits and interactions with the site. Google receives technical connection and usage information. Analytics cookies, such as _ga and _ga_…, distinguish visits. We configure a maximum cookie lifetime of 180 days without automatic lifetime extension. Advertising consent remains denied, and Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled in our tag configuration.
When Analytics is not allowed, we do not load its tag or send analytics pings. On withdrawal, we disable Analytics and remove accessible first-party Analytics cookies. Analytics is also disabled in private admin previews. Google privacy policy ↗
Optional external players
Permitting a provider allows its players to load when you press play. Players are not automatically loaded simply because you accept all. An “Allow … and play” choice enables only that provider and starts the content you requested.
- YouTube: videos use the youtube-nocookie.com embed domain. This still connects to Google and is not a guarantee of zero data collection. Google / YouTube privacy.
- Vimeo: video embeds request its do-not-track setting. Vimeo privacy.
- Spotify: embedded music players. Spotify privacy.
- X: embedded posts and clips loaded through its widgets script with the do-not-track option requested. X privacy.
These services receive connection information, including your IP address and browser information, and may use cookies or similar technologies and process data internationally under their own policies. Their storage and retention depend on the service, browser and your account state. We cannot delete cookies stored on another provider's domain; manage those through your browser or the provider.
Images, hosting and contact
Images are served from homopolitan.com and our image proxy at images.cronis.net to deliver appropriately sized covers and stills. These requests are part of displaying the site, not optional analytics. Web and image servers may keep technical access logs to operate and secure the service.
